GUNS OF THE BANANA WARS

Stephen Dent - Browning Machine GunThe Thompson sub machine gun was widely used by the Marines in the Banana wars as well as obviously in many other American wars, not the least of which were both World Wars. This is one of the most important firearms of American history, but also adds that another important Banana War firearm was the infamous .30 caliber M1917. S Dent Gun knows what you’re thinking already – many Americans consider this weapon heavy and unwieldy and better suited to target practice than to trench warfare. That said, I still consider it perhaps the most prevalent and important firearm (aside from the Tommy) of the Banana Wars.

Unlike me, many Americans don’t even know what (or when) the Banana Wars were. So before you go disagreeing with good ol’ Sugar Stephen Dent, try and understand the logistics of the Banana Wars and then you’ll see why I picked the firearms I did…because they were better suited to the circumstances and terrain than other guns used, including M1903s and others.
